After the four matches of the group stage that were played on Saturday, this Sunday will be played the last four that will determine the final positions in the knockout stages of the contest, where Argentina has already guaranteed its place as first of Group A, waiting for the confirmation of its rival.

It is that Argentina must face in the eighth round a third that could be Nigeria or Japan, a variable that will be known once the day of Sunday that will have the matches between Iraq vs England and Tunisia vs Uruguay for Group E, and those of Honduras vs France and South Korea vs Gambia for F.

U20 World Cup: how Argentina would follow the path

To pass the eighth, the Argentina of Luka Romero would play the quarterfinals on Sunday, June 4 at 14:30 p.m. in the city of Santiago del Estero against an opponent that will come out of the winner in the eighths between Ecuador and the second of Group F, which will be between Gambia, South Korea and Honduras.

In train of assumptions, if Argentina manages to access the semifinals, that match will be played on Thursday, June 8 at 18 pm at the La Plata stadium, in which it would be the first time of those led by Javier Mascherano in that square.

Can you get an idea of who the rival might be in that instance? Yes, right. And also who can no longer be. On that side of the table are confirmed as possible contenders Colombia and Italy, as well as the leader of Group E (most likely England) and a third of Group A, B or F (New Zealand, Slovakia, Honduras?).

Brazil, the United States, Uzbekistan, Israel run on the other side of the table, and to them four will be added as many that will be determined this Sunday, for example who is leader of Group F, today privilege of Gambia, or the second of Group E, today in the hands of Uruguay, in addition to two teams that will arrive as third.

Saturday's results

Brazil beat Nigeria 2-0 on Saturday for the third and final round of Group D of the Under-20 World Cup and qualified as first in the zone, which fully recovered from the defeat it suffered on the first day against Italy and that raised some doubts about its favoritism.

But it was not only the youth Canarinha that benefited on this day; Colombia drew its match with Senegal in the last minutes, eliminated its African rival, won the group and with the victory of Israel against Japan defined the zone in its favor.

Nigeria, despite the loss to Brazil, finished third in the group with six points that left them in a comfortable position to reach the knockout stages of the World Youth World Cup as one of the four best third-place finishers to enter.

Brazil, from less to more in the World Cup

Brazil confirmed that a stumble is not a fall and advanced to the knockout stages as leader of Group D after beating Nigeria 2-0.After falling to Italy in the first round, Ramón Menezes' team added their second consecutive victory on this day and harvested the points they needed to finish at the top of their zone with six integers.

An accurate header from Jean Pedroso and a goal from Marquinhos after a great counterattack led by Sávio sentenced the match before the end of the first 45 minutes.

Italy recovers and qualifies

The selection of Italy, with another double of Casadei and another goal of Ambrosino, ended this Saturday to the first World Cup adventure of the Dominican Republic and guaranteed its ticket for the knockout stages as second of the disputed group D of the World Cup in Argentina.

At the Malvinas Argentinas stadium in Mendoza, the Azzurri, who had just fallen to Nigeria, overcame the Dominican team without stepping on the accelerator and saving strength for the crossing of eighths, which will be against the first of group E, possibly England. Cesare Casadei reached 4 goals and for now commands the table of scorers of the World Cup.

Colombia rowed from behind and won their group

Colombia advanced as leader of Group C to the knockout stages of the Under-20 World Cup by drawing 1-1 with Senegal and eliminating it from the competition. A goal from Oscar Cortés in the 95th minute sealed the tie for those led by Héctor Cárdenas, who managed to add after starting losing for the third consecutive time.

Earlier, Mamadou Camara had opened the scoring for a Senegal side that was left out of the tournament. In this way Colombia will play next Wednesday in the city of San Juan against one of the best third, while Israel finished second with four units after beating Japan 1-2, which finished with three units.

With that result, the first eighth-final was already defined with Israel facing Uzbekistan next Tuesday in the city of Mendoza.
