In Lower Bavaria, there was an explosion in an apartment building – two people injured. The police say that cleaning agents could be the cause of the accident.
Bad Füssing – Two people were injured in an explosion in an apartment building in Bad Füssing (Passau district) on Saturday evening (May 28, 2023), one of them seriously. According to the first findings of the police, the injured are tenants of an apartment in the house. The emergency services are giving the first details about the accident: the cause of the explosion was therefore the handling of cleaning agents.

When the fire brigade arrived at the scene of the accident, rescue workers discovered parts of the wall lying on the road. They then found the injured people in the apartment. The 52-year-old man had severe burn injuries. His 46-year-old wife was slightly injured. The 52-year-old was taken to a special clinic for burn injuries. His wife was taken to a nearby clinic. Other residents of the house were not injured and were able to return to their apartments.
According to the police, the accident occurred when one of the later injured people had operated the light switch in the bathroom. Investigations into the explosion are ongoing. Damage to the building was in the mid-five-digit range. (CEI/dpa)
