His face hidden under a hood, a hilarious young man is staged on a video published on social networks. His youthful voice suggests that this boy is no more than 20 years old. Enzo*, who was arrested in early April in Marseille, is only 18 years old. He was indicted as part of an investigation for three murders, including those of two teenagers just aged 15 and 16. The Marseille sicarius, with his skin dotted with acne and his thin beard, would have earned 200,000 euros by chaining a dozen contracts in less than a year. A killing machine.
This chilling profile is far from an isolated case. In March, a team of young hitmen was also uncovered by police officers from the Paris crime squad and the Central Office for the Fight against Organized Crime. They were aged between 16 and 25 and had been involved in a shooting on rue de Popincourt in Paris in July 2022. In both cases, some of the youth involved were unknown to the justice system. Before being recruited by network heads, they were totally strangers to the middle of organized crime. And these profiles of killers that emerge worry the police for several reasons.
