Attorney General Gali Baharav Miara informed Prime Minister Netanyahu's lawyers on Monday that she opposes criminal mediation.
The proposal for mediation was raised during closed-door hearings in Case 4000 by Jacques Chen, attorney for Shaul Elovitch, the suspect in the case. Judge Oded Shaham asked the state to consider the matter, and now the state, through its legal advisor, has rejected the proposal.

Sometimes, in criminally complex cases, the case is transferred to a mediator who is a sitting criminal judge. The purpose of this step is to try to allow the parties to overcome the management of the case in the courtroom, allowing them to focus only on issues where the gaps are not too large.
