The LR MEP and former minister responds to the reservations expressed by Gérald Darmanin in Le Parisien, on the proposal for a constitutional law of the Republicans.
LE FIGARO. - "Everyone must take a step," replied Gérald Darmanin to the Republicans. On the immigration law, are we moving towards an agreement between the government and the right?
Brice HORTEFEUX. - What matters is the confrontation of projects. The one presented by Eric Ciotti, Bruno Retailleau and Olivier Marleix is complete, serious and effective. Having read it, the Minister of the Interior, and this is natural, continues to defend the government's bill by believing that it could be enriched by our proposals through amendments. I say: be careful. Because, today, we know that the "in-itself-tempism" is immobility. By wanting to run two hares at once, you end up getting lost.
