According to Itzik Atar, CEO of the Shukit chain of stores and an online website for fruits and vegetables, "The price of cherries has gradually declined in the past two weeks. Before the holiday, we lowered the price in order to make the product accessible for the holiday. Today, red cherry costs 24.9 shekels per 300 grams, that is, 8.3 shekels per 100 grams. Before the holiday, the price was NIS 29.9 per 300 grams.

"Since the price of cherry per kilo is high, it is sold in small packages. As you move into summer, the packaging grows. In branches only, we sell in bulk, and then the price is more accessible and stands at NIS 50 per kilogram. One of the reasons the package is expensive is that it is a shell case that preserves the fruit. Also, when packing, the sorting level is high and the consumer can sort on his own.
