There was a change of leadership at the Junge Union (JU) Erding.

Erding/Langengeisling – After four years at the helm of the CSU youth organization, Monika Pieczonka resigned from her position as local chairwoman, but will remain on the board as an assessor. The new local chairman is 30-year-old Uwe Lallinger, whom many people know as a band member of Tetrapack.

Nine of 43 members had appeared at the annual general meeting in the Gasthaus Pfanzelt in Langengeisling, as well as some CSU city councillors. There, Pieczonka looked back on the four years of her term of office. Initially, it was "business as usual", with "regulars' tables, standing receptions and the local elections", in which two JUlers were brought into the city council.

Then came Corona, "and people looked for other priorities, politics was less sexy". Again and again, members would "die the JU death, i.e. retire at the age of 35". The number has been reduced by four in the past two years. Now there is an upswing again, not least because "the traffic lights in Berlin make it easy for us," says Pieczonka. "Ideological governance does not resonate with young people." She gave the advice to the "Last Generation": "Enjoy your youth and look to the future with optimism." In any case, she does not see herself "as the last, but as the next generation". Finally, she expressed her gratitude: "It was a great time, I always enjoyed it and look forward to new tasks." The 31-year-old is deputy JU district chairwoman and works as a lawyer in Munich.

CSU local chairwoman Janine Altheimer reported that her political career had also begun with the JU. She praised the good connection between the JU and the CSU and promised "that we will be able to draw up an attractive city council list again in the local elections in 2026, because you are noticing an influx again". It must be made clear to the people "that they are not voting for the lesser of two evils with the CSU, but that we have to emphasize our position." Altheimer concluded: "With this motivated squad, I'm not afraid and I'm looking forward to the new team."

Treasurer Maria Stuber reported 685 euros in income and 1692 euros in expenses, so that the cash balance at the end of 2022 was 2135 euros. For personal reasons – her new center of life is Schrobenhausen – she declared that she would not run for re-election.

After the unanimous discharge, the new elections were on the agenda, which were led by JU district chairman Daniel Gottal, and which went smoothly – there were no dissenting votes.

In his keynote speech, Götz said to the new chairman: "We'll see, that's a nice challenge." He had noticed a certain spirit of optimism in the local association. He once again emphasized the importance of the JU for the CSU and also thanked Pieczonka for her commitment. A motivated party is needed, "because the future of all of us is at stake."

In his closing remarks, the new chairman Lallinger emphasized how important it is to recruit members, especially at the present time, and promised: "We want to bring together a strong team and we want to show that politics is not so unapproachable."
