On May 20, LR leaders unveiled their project on immigration.
Reading this umpteenth plan, many French people must wonder why the same LR did not apply these beautiful measures when they were in office. They have even contradicted some of it: we owe them the abolition of the 'double penalty', from which they are calling for return.
While it is to be welcomed that the vital issue of immigration is finally returning to the centre of debate, this project nevertheless suffers from two major pitfalls.

The Republicans initially refuse to break taboos that are nevertheless unavoidable.
