Bruck an der Glocknerstraße – After the crash of a light aircraft in Austria on Saturday, May 27, 2023, further details about the two victims are becoming known. According to the police, the two fatalities come from Lower Bavaria. They were the 56-year-old pilot and a 65-year-old companion. Meanwhile, the cause of the accident remains unclear on Sunday.

According to initial findings, the light aircraft took off from Eggenfelden Airport in Germany on Saturday morning, landed at Zell am See Airport for an hour and was then on its way to Slovenia. For unknown reasons, it had crashed into the parking lot of a toboggan run in the municipality of Bruck an der Glocknerstraße shortly after take-off. In the process, the plane caught fire, and according to police, several small explosions occurred. The wreckage of the plane was seized.
It was only in February that a tragic accident also occurred in Austria, and those affected also come from Bavaria. A German coach has fallen over an embankment near Schladming in Austria. A vacationer was fatally injured. The bus driver (51) died in hospital. The bus comes from Passau in Bavaria.
