The risk of forest fires decreased somewhat in Brandenburg on Whit Monday despite persistent drought. According to the Ministry of the Environment, only the districts of Teltow-Fläming, Dahme-Spreewald and Elbe-Elster had the second highest danger level, which indicates a high danger. In the rest of the country, there was a moderate danger. On Sunday, a high danger was still indicated for nine districts and two cities and a very high danger for the Uckermark.
Potsdam - A smaller fire in Weggun in the Uckermark of one hectare has now been extinguished, as the fire brigade control center announced. The RBB had previously reported on this.
The stages of the Ministry of the Environment show the different danger for the development of a forest fire - they are intended to sensitize the population to it. The classification is based on several criteria: precipitation, humidity, wind speed and temperature. According to the State Forestry Agency, Brandenburg is the state with the highest risk of forest fires nationwide.
However, the German Weather Service (DWD) forecasts a high risk for most locations in Brandenburg on Wednesday. The DWD's forecast takes into account air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, precipitation rate and radiation from the atmosphere. Dpa
