The Jerusalem District Court on Tuesday sentenced Yitzhak Sharifi to 11 years in prison, convicted of committing serious offenses against 30 women, including soliciting them to engage in prostitution and have sex with him, deceiving them and taking advantage of their economic distress. Among other things, he was given a suspended prison sentence and compensation to the victims.

The prosecution asked for an 18-year prison sentence. The sister of one of the victims came out against him at the sentencing ceremony and shouted at him: "It's a shame you didn't get more. You will die in prison like you killed us. Like you killed my sister and everyone who was hurt by you. A piece of zero."

According to the indictment, beginning in 2012, Sharifi approached 30 women using false identities. Most of the women he contacted were single mothers in difficult financial situations. At first, he fraudulently received intimate photos of them and then met with them and had sex with them, giving them false promises.

In addition, he misrepresented to them that he was in charge of a firm that represented financially capable men for women with financial difficulties. Using the fictitious character he created, he offered them to meet a wealthy man and in return for having sexual encounters with him and receiving a large sum of money. According to his proposal, the women had to complete a "quota" of sexual encounters and only then would they be paid. In reality, Sharifi was the one who met with the women.

As part of its arguments for sentencing, the State Prosecutor's Office emphasized the defendant's severe harm to dozens of women and the great damage caused to them: "The indictments in which the defendant confessed include 30 charges, and behind each indictment, the story of a woman, of a mother, who is a whole world. The indictments show that the defendant's occupation and mission in this life was to locate women in distress, to deceive them in the ugliest way imaginable and to harm them severely. The defendant, as an insatiable oiled machine, for a decade, without stopping, worked intensively to satisfy his sexual desires and urges."
