The TV presenter and network personality in her spare time shared the romance that gripped her ahead of her separation from New York • Along the way, she also volunteered information about the time left until she finally returns to Israel

Maya Wertheimer has long lived on the Tel Aviv-New York line, due to the work constraints of her husband and the father of her daughter, Assaf Zamir, who served as Israel's consul in New York until his resignation at the end of March. On Monday, she sought to summarize her stay in the city, sharing her ambivalent feelings about the big city and announcing the expected time when she will pack everything up and return to settle in the Holy Land.

"I didn't understand New York. No sun, no friends, no family, everything is not too clear," Wertheimer wrote initially. "I realize it's a friendly city for a person who wants to end their lives. Five bridges, two tunnels, pizza for one dollar. Lots of corners with smell of urine (not dogs'). This city is for the tough only, souls," she said.

"We are starting the last month here, because soon Asia will finish kindergarten and we will be able to return to Israel. The countdown has begun. As soon as the end began, I lifted my head and realized that this city is actually really amazing. Maybe I underestimated her, and maybe I'm beginning to appreciate her in light of the breakup. I find myself surrounded by lovers and friends and family. Everything is full of sunshine, and I'm as energetic and happy as a tour guide in Ein Bokek!" she joked.

"I'm starting to feel comfortable, everything is so beautiful, walking down the street and feeling like I'm falling in love with this city. She's not really a stranger anymore. I feel a little more confident speaking English, and I ride my subway and bike here without worrying about getting lost. It took a year and a half. Divorce at first sight, love at second sight. New York, you're magic," she signed.
