Le Figaro Nice
A man was wounded by a bullet in the sensitive district of La Zaïne in Vallauris (Alpes-Maritimes) on the night of Saturday to Sunday, learned Le Figaro from a police source, confirming information from Nice-Matin. The victim, aged 42, was hit in the abdomen but his prognosis is not life-threatening.
A neighborhood dispute is at the origin of this clash that could have turned into a drama. While a party was taking place in an apartment on the seventh floor, a verbal altercation began around 1 a.m. between a guest and a group of young people, located at the bottom of the building, at the level of Henri-Pourtalet Avenue. From the balcony, invective flared before the group decided to come and settle its accounts more closely. They then went up to the accommodation where the party with friends was taking place and came face to face with the guest concerned by the dispute.

Three bullets fired
That's when a 17-year-old man opened fire with a handgun, police said. Surrounded by his gang on the landing, he fired three times at the man. The latter was hit by the third bullet in the abdomen, but escaped thanks to a rapid intervention of the firefighters. Medicalized on the spot and then transported to the Pasteur Hospital in Nice, his life is no longer in danger.
The youths concerned fled and the police failed in the evening to arrest the individual who fired his shots. The latter finally went on his own to the police station of Antibes, Monday around 20h, where he was placed in custody. An investigation was opened by the urban security to shed light on the reasons and circumstances of his act.
