For days, an arsonist in Namibia caused horror and also set fire to the farm of the Heiser couple. Now the culprit has finally been caught.
Update from May 29, 2023: Namibia – On November 24, 2022, Alina Marikka Heiser saw the light of day. Her parents Anna (32) and Gerald Heiser (37), who became known through "Bauer sucht Frau", spoke in the aftermath of a "difficult birth" – the prelude to a series of adversities with which the young family has to fight: Most recently, the Heiser family barely survived a car accident, now there was again cause for concern: An arsonist put the region in fear and terror.

For days, the criminal "Farmer Seeks Woman" favorite Anna Heiser and her neighbors kept in suspense: Although the stranger had set several fires, the search parties came too late each time – there was no trace of the arsonist. However, husband Gerald and the other farmers in the region had already picked up the trail shortly after the first fires - until the end, however, without success ...
But now the tide has turned: "Gerald just called – they caught him," the mother of two told her followers on Monday afternoon (May 29). The failures of the last few days and further isolated fires were finally followed by the arrest of the arsonist, who will next be handed over to the competent authorities and will have to answer for his actions in court.

"Somehow nothing is spared us": Stranger sets fire to Gerald and Anna Heiser's farm
Update from May 26, 2023: "I wonder what the universe wants to tell us with the events of the last weeks and months," Anna Heiser is at a loss on Instagram on Friday afternoon. The shock is still in her bones: "Somehow we are not spared anything, because last night our farm was still burning." An arsonist is up to mischief in the region, who has "infected three farms" in addition to the Heisers' farm.

A blessing in disguise: Due to the drought, little grass grows, and the fires could be brought under control. Nevertheless, the attack is particularly close to the former "Farmer Seeks Woman" participant: "Because the police are unfortunately useless here, I am so far away from the city as a woman with small children." The perpetrator is still on the run – but corresponding search operations are already underway.
Dramatic birth of Anna and Gerald Heiser's baby
First reported on February 7, 2023: Since Anna and Gerald got together in the 17th season of "Bauer sucht Frau", the couple has been in the public eye. For the love of her life, the now 32-year-old left Germany in 2017 and moved in with farmer Gerald on his cattle farm in Namibia. After marriage and the birth of son Leon in January 2021, his sister Alina Marikka followed at the end of 2022.
On Instagram, Anna had already indicated that her exhausting pregnancy had also been followed by a complicated birth. Fans of the couple will be able to watch how dramatic it really was on February 10, 2023 at 20:15 p.m. on Vox. Then the Heisers will be seen for the first time at "Goodbye Germany".

In the preview of this premiere, which Anna already presents to her more than 170,000 fans on Instagram, dramatic scenes can be seen. The expectant mother had already announced in advance that she would also rely on a caesarean section for her second delivery. But how dramatic the birth of her daughter would still be, the emigrant hardly expected.
Births by caesarean section
Around 220,700 women gave birth by caesarean section in 2020 – almost one in three births in a hospital in Germany was by caesarean section. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reports that the caesarean section rate was 29.7% nationwide.
At the international level, comparable OECD data are available for 26 countries up to 2019. According to the report, in 2019 there were 54 caesarean sections per 100 live births in Turkey, 39 in Poland and 38 in Hungary. The number was comparatively low in Israel (15), Norway and Iceland (16 each). In 2019, Germany was in the top third of the 30 OECD countries with 100 caesarean sections per 26 live births.
You can see Anna, completely finished, lying on the bed in the hospital. The doctor examines the large baby bump by ultrasound and states: "It is now the case that the head is more up. Quasi back in the breech position and that can of course lead to a pretty big catastrophe." Words that, of course, no mother likes to hear – especially if the baby is supposed to be born in four weeks. But it's no use, Anna Heiser also has to realize: "The doctor has just decided that we have to get the little one out today," she can be heard saying in an anxious voice.
