Crédit Mutuel acts its reconciliation by launching a zero-interest loan for bicycles

2023-05-30T07:02:16.932Z

Highlights: From June 12, individuals will be able to borrow bicycles without having to pay fees. It is the first time since 1998 that this has happened. The move is part of a deal to end a long-running dispute between the two groups. The two sides have been at odds for years over who had the right to borrow the bikes. The deal is a result of an agreement reached by the two sides, who had been at loggerheads over the issue for more than a decade. The agreement was reached after a meeting of the two bodies, which was attended by more than 1,000 people.

From June 12, individuals will be able to borrow up to 6000,<> euros to buy a bicycle, without having to pay fees.

Crédit Mutuel announces the launch of a commercial offer, on the purchase of bicycles, which concerns all federations for the first time since 1998, effectively ending the war between two entities of the mutual bank. All individuals, customer or not, will be able from June 12 to turn to Crédit Mutuel to obtain a loan at zero rate and without fees for the purchase of a bike, whether electric or not, within the limit of 6000 euros. Professionals will be able to borrow up to 10,000 euros.

For the first time since 1998, this initiative is launched by Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale, which brings together 14 of the 18 federations of the mutual group as well as CIC, and by Crédit Mutuel Arkéa (Brittany and South-West), which had opposed the central body for years. The two sides earlier this month buried the hatchet after more than a decade of conflict. Arkéa Chairman Julien Carmona went last Friday to the general meeting of Crédit Mutuel Centre Est Europe, the group's largest federation and whose boss is also the chairman of the entire group, illustrating reconciliation.
