A person drowned yesterday at Lake Unterschleissheim. Although a passer-by notified the emergency services in time, any help came too late.
On the evening of Whit Monday, the Unterschleißheim volunteer fire brigade was alerted to Lake Unterschleissheim with technology and divers as well as various other water rescue units. A passer-by observed a person in the northern part of the lake who could no longer hold on to the surface of the water and sank.
Four boats, eight divers and a rescue helicopter were deployed
The passer-by immediately made himself felt with the help of a safety vest and instructed the FFU first arriving divers in detail, so that the first diver could go on a targeted search as early as 20:04 p.m. In the course of the operation, the search was intensified by the other water rescue units.
A total of four boats and eight divers from various units were deployed and the rescue helicopter Christoph 1 provided support from the air. The latest technology was also used by the DLRG, with the help of which people can be located under water.
Resuscitation measures were unsuccessful
At 20:41 p.m., the lifeless person was found in the water by FFU divers and immediately brought ashore. Unfortunately, despite resuscitation, the young man's life could not be saved. The man's family was cared for by the crisis intervention team.
On the part of the FFU, 27 emergency personnel were on duty for around three hours, including debriefing. Those responsible would like to thank all the staff involved for the smooth and good cooperation. Once again, it is worth mentioning the exemplary behavior of the witness, because a lot of valuable time was saved by making himself known and providing accurate information.
