Remember to bring your mobile phone when going for a group walk in the forest of Fontainebleau, especially if you finally decide to take another direction alone. With this very useful tool in this case, the Saturday that has just passed would have been much quieter and serene for many people.
It all starts on Saturday morning. A Dutch family, on holiday in the area, finds themselves in the parking lot of the Canche aux Merciers in Arbonne-la-Forêt. The parents and their 22-year-old son go into the forest to find a spot to climb. But their son tells them that he prefers to look on his side, alone. The parents agree. All agree to meet again two hours later to picnic together.
It's time for lunch break. The father and mother are there. But the son is waiting. The clock is ticking. Anxiety sets in, grows. Around 14 p.m., the parents went looking for him. But no trace anywhere. Around 16 p.m., they came across a gendarmerie car and reported their son's disappearance to the military.
From then on, the gendarmerie company of Fontainebleau deploys great means. A helicopter is mobilized to comb the area seen from the sky because the relief is steep. The hypothesis of a fall of the young man on these slopes with high altitude difference is considered. A dog handler and his animal are committed to his search, as are the gendarmes of the motorcycle brigade of Nemours and the off-road bikers of Melun, the mounted gendarmes of Fontainebleau and finally those of the territorial brigades of Cély-en-Bière, Nemours and La Chapelle-la-Reine.

Clearly about thirty soldiers comb the field. Armed and covered with a bulletproof vest heavy enough to wear, they trudge everywhere despite the heat... Without finding the slightest trace of the disappeared.
At 23 p.m., parents receive a phone call. It's their son! After completing the very difficult and very long circuit of 25 moguls, in the parking lot of the Diplodocus, he ended up several kilometers south of the planned meeting place with his parents. He asked a camper to lend him his phone to call his parents to pick him up! Big relief. The lieutenant-colonel who leads the company still told the young climber all the concern he had generated and the means put in place to find him. He would hardly have reacted. Just recalling the essential in his eyes: he was not dead!
This story recalls another, that of Cloé, 20, who disappeared on April 21 in Dammartin-en-Goële after her morning jog. The Meaux company had also set up a huge system, between helicopter, drones, dog handler, mounted gendarmes, divers ... In the end, thanks to the part of the investigation conducted by the research section, Cloé was found the next day in a campsite in the Marne department with her former boyfriend...
