Around 21 p.m., at a reserved table in an exclusive pizzeria in Palermo, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta sat down to dinner with Jorge Macri and confirmed the news that the Minister of Government had been waiting for a long time: he will be the candidate for head of Government of the city of Buenos Aires of the PRO in the next PASO of August 13.
Internally known the results of the three surveys that the party sent to carry out, Rodríguez Larreta will communicate this Tuesday the former mayor of Vicente López as his favorite to succeed him in the position he has held since 2015. The Minister of Government had been punctuating in most of the surveys disseminated.
City sources, however, were cautious and stressed that the decision has not yet been made official and that the candidacy of Fernán Quirós is still standing. While the summit of PRO leaders was taking place, the version circulated that the Minister of Health had lowered his candidacy. But it has not yet been formalized.
Since last week it had been anticipated that the definition would surely be on Tuesday. And so it will be. There was no need for a meeting with Fernando de Andreis, Macri's campaign manager. With the surveys of Isonomía, Trespuntozero and Aresco in hand, Larreta defined it.
