The "normalisation" of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, signed on 18th March last in Ohrid in North Macedonia and supported by the European Union (EU) and the United States, is once again being called into question, in a context of renewed tension unprecedented for years.
This time, open clashes took place in the four municipalities with a Serb majority in the North, between a few thousand Serb demonstrators and Kosovar special forces, which the soldiers of the NATO force deployed in Kosovo (Kfor) tried to appease. They resulted in a heavy toll on Sunday: at least 53 wounded, including 25 from Kfor, Italian and Hungarian soldiers. Three remain hospitalized, and one injured, a Serb civilian, is in critical condition with gunshot wounds.
