Bad Neustadt an der Saale – In Bavaria, a major fire occurred late on Monday evening, May 29, in Bad Neustadt an der Saale, Rhön-Grabfeld district. According to police, the fire brigade was deployed with a large contingent, also to save the lives of around 100 endangered animals.

According to a press release from the police, the notification of the fire in the Aussiedlerhof was received by the integrated control center of the fire brigade and rescue service at around 22.30 p.m. According to the report, a fire broke out in an agricultural hall with a stable that houses around 100 cattle and calves.

According to the police, the fire could already be seen on arrival, the flames beat "meters high from the hall," it says. With a large contingent of around 200 men and women, the fire brigade fought against the major fire, prevented it from spreading to other buildings and finally brought it under control. A great achievement – only two people were "slightly injured by smoke inhalation and treated by the rescue service," writes the police. The animals were all rescued, but they are still being examined by a veterinarian.

It is not yet clear how the fire could have occurred. The investigations were already taken up during the night by the Schweinfurt Criminal Investigation Department. The police, however, estimate the damage to property at a lower seven-digit value. (FHZ)
