Frankfurt – At the Zurich-Hardbrücke train station (Switzerland), a man is said to have tried to push a ten-year-old in front of an incoming train. However, as the police and the city of Zurich announced on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, a passer-by was able to catch the boy in time before falling onto the track.
Ten-year-old almost pushed in front of incoming train in Zurich – passer-by can save boys
Playing children between the ages of nine and twelve are said to have gotten into a dispute with the suspect in an underpass, according to initial findings. As a result, the man allegedly pushed a twelve-year-old to the ground. The boy would have sustained abrasions. Why the dispute broke out in the first place was initially unclear.
According to the police, the children then went to the station, where they met the man again. The 42-year-old is said to have grabbed the ten-year-old on a platform and pushed towards the track, on which a train was approaching. A passer-by could have saved the boy at the last moment, according to the information. The alleged perpetrator was initially able to flee. A short time later, he turned himself in. He was arrested by the police.
It is not only in megacities that train stations are considered dangerous places. Statistics from the German Federal Police show that violent crimes occur disproportionately often at stations and on trains. In Regensburg, for example, stone-throwers seriously injured a man who fell onto the track. (han/dpa)
