On Saturday, MTV Dießen took the next 3 points to the Ammersee. Coach Nico Weis' team won 3-1 in Neuried. For the eighth time in a row, the Dießen women remained undefeated.
Both teams competed with a thin staffing with only 12 players in the squad. The spectators saw a game with many goal scenes and some oddities. Even the first dangerous MTV corner landed on the post. A few minutes later, Neuried's goalkeeper parried against MTV captain Maria Breitenberger. After 16 minutes, MTV took a 1-0 lead after one of many dangerous corner kicks. Carolin Bader headed Zoe Klein's pass out of a bunch of players, Neuried tried to clear on the line, the referee saw the ball already behind the line. Dießen created more good opportunities. After half an hour, the MTV defence cleared a pass from the penalty area, a sudden penalty whistle surprised everyone involved. The penalty kick was defused by Dießen's goalkeeper Larissa Müske.
In the second half of the game, the hosts tried to control the game, but rarely came in front of the MTV goal. Dießen countered dangerously again and again. Kristina Spitzer crossed from the baseline to Andrea Bichler in the closing stages, who headed in to make it 2-0. The referee disallowed the goal. "No one on the pitch knows why," coach Weis shook his head. "It's a shame about the great goal!" Almost in return, a free-kick whistle on the edge of the penalty area for the hosts, the subsequent free-kick landed deflected at the feet of Madeleine Kreisel, who was able to push in to make it 1-1. Dießen replied immediately. Zoe Klein rounded an opponent and pulled off from 18 yards, the ball hit the far corner to regain the lead to make it 2-1. Shortly before the end it was again a standard, Zoe Klein with a beautiful free kick to Carolin Bader, who scored with a header to make the final score 3-1.
On Sunday, MTV Dießen will now have to travel to Saaldorf for a second time after the game was abandoned after 60 minutes three weeks ago due to a thunderstorm.
