A shooting in Hollywood Beach, one of the most popular beaches in South Florida, left multiple wounded, including minors, on Monday afternoon, according to local media reports.
It was not immediately clear the exact number of victims or their health condition. Nor the reason for the shooting.
Hollywood police asked the public in a Twitter post to avoid the beach area because of "an ongoing investigation into a shooting." He did not elaborate.

"Thank you to the good Samaritans, paramedics, police officers and emergency room doctors and nurses for their immediate response to help the victims of today's shooting," Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy said in a Facebook post.
At least five victims were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment at the trauma center, spokeswoman Yanet Obarrio Sanchez told NBC 6.
Videos that circulated on social media and could not be verified by Noticias Telemundo show emergency crews tending to several injured.
Hollywood Beach, located south of the city of Fort Lauderdale and north of Miami, is a popular tourist destination that usually receives more visitors than usual during holidays such as Memorial Day weekend.
