It should be noted that last month the decree was said to come into effect according to which it was decided that dairies deserve a 16% increase in supervised milk prices. This is due to the increase in raw milk prices and the postponement of the price increase from last year. This increase was supposed to take place following an agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the dairies. The day before the order went into effect, on April 30, the Ministry of Finance realized that this increase would reflect too high a cost, so that the price of a carton of milk would rise above NIS 7.

In order for the price of a carton of milk to be lower, the Ministry of Finance decided that the price of supervised dairy products would increase by 9.28% and not by 16%, which is the eligibility of dairies. On April 30, the order on an increase of 8.28% was signed, and an update has now been signed to the order on an increase of another percentage point starting this Thursday.

Overall, this increase will reflect an increase of about 9.28% in supervised milk prices, most of which took place already in May.
