In the middle of the night, a residential building in Miesbach caught fire. The flames almost completely destroyed it. 90 firefighters were on duty, the six residents remained unharmed.
Miesbach - Around 1.20 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, the sirens wailed in the district town. Even from afar, the emergency services saw the glow of the flames blazing from the roof truss of the apartment building on Millauerweg, reports Miesbach's fire brigade commander Matthias Resch. On site, it was then quickly decided to raise the alert level. In addition to the Miesbach and Wies fire departments, forces from Parsberg, Agatharied and Hausham also arrived. A total of 90 men took up the fight against the fire. From several sides and from six pipes, they shot the extinguishing water onto the burning building - thanks to the turntable ladder also from above. The respirators - a total of seven squads of two men each - also penetrated into the interior of the smoky house.

Fortunately, all six residents in the house at the time of the fire were already safe. According to Resch, a couple with a seven-month-old daughter saved themselves from the upper floor with their dog via a ladder leaning against the balcony by a neighbor. All were unharmed.

However, the building was severely damaged. Since the entire south side was already in flames when the fire brigades arrived, the focus was primarily on containing the fire in order to prevent it from spreading to the neighbouring houses, explains Resch. This was then also successful. After a four-hour, intensive extinguishing operation, the fire was out.
The cause of the fire and the amount of damage are still unknown
There is currently no information on the possible cause of the fire or the amount of damage. However, the police headquarters of Upper Bavaria South has announced a press report in the course of the day at the request of our newspaper.
