The Frente de Todos deputy told his health problem on National Organ Donation Day.

The deputy of the Frente de Todos Rodolfo Tailhade, one of the main voices of the ruling party in the political trial against the Supreme Court of Justice, revealed on Tuesday that he suffers from an illness and that he needs a kidney transplant.

He did so through the publication of a video on social networks, where he reported that he suffers from a kidney disease called "polycystosis", which has no cure and causes the kidneys not to work.

"On National Organ Donation Day, I think it is appropriate to tell you that I am one of the more than 7,<> Argentines waiting for a transplant. In my case, kidney, since I have been a kidney patient for many years and I am on dialysis," he posted via Twitter.

The national legislator questioned that currently in Argentina it is very difficult to obtain organs to perform transplants, despite the solidarity of Argentines and the Justina Law, which was approved in 2018 and which provides that "any capable person over 18 years of age" is possible organ or tissue donor, unless he has expressly stated otherwise.

"We need the provinces and municipalities of our country to adhere to the Procurar, the program launched by the Ministry of Health of the Nation so that hospitals and clinics have an organ and tissue procurement unit, with very little we can do a lot," he added.

Then, although without mentioning it, he alluded to presidential candidate Javier Milei, who aroused controversy by pronouncing himself in favor of the sale of organs and considering it as another "market."

"One of the things I've raised is that more than 350,7 people die every year. By law they are all potential donors. There are 500,<> people who are suffering, waiting for transplants. There is something that is not working well," argued the leader of La Libertad Avanza.

In his post, Deputy Tailhade came to the crossroads of this proposal and questioned the idea of "commodifying the ablation and transplant system", because it is "every man for himself", because those who "have money get organs" and "those who do not, die".

"The National Day of Organ Donation is then a great moment to vindicate the principles of solidarity, public organization and equity that shape the Argentine system, against the perverse message of those who seek to turn life into a commodity," concluded the deputy of the FdT.

Days ago, Ezequiel Lo Cane, father of Justina, the 12-year-old girl who died waiting for a heart transplant and inspired the norm, also came out to respond to the libertarian leader and economist.

"I am very open to debate even if they come with strange issues like these (because of Milei's statements). Words can convince or not, but acts devastate and the Justina Law is an act," he said.

This Tuesday, May 30, the National Day of Organ Donation is celebrated in our country, "in commemoration of the birth of the son of the first patient who gave birth after having received a transplant in a public hospital."

That is why the National Central Single Coordinator of Ablation and Implant Institute (INCUCAI) published a message to raise awareness about the importance of organ donation.
