Netanyahu: The Opposition Does Not Condemn MK Attacks; Lapid: inciting evil (Knesset channel)
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to appoint his close associate, Likud CEO Zuri Siso, as chairman of the Likud municipal committee, which coordinates and leads the party's preparations for the local elections at the end of the year. Sisu will replace Modi'in Local Government Chairman and Mayor Haim Bibas, who headed the municipal committee in the last two local elections, in 2013 and 2018.
Bibas was once considered very close to Netanyahu, but in recent months great tension has erupted between the two over the battle over the Arnona fund, and even earlier, because of Bibas' opposition to the dismissal of Defense Minister Yoav Galant at the end of March and his calls to stop the legal revolution.
Netanyahu chose not to appoint him to head the committee for another term, preferring to place Sisu, one of his closest confidants in the party, over ministers Nir Barkat and Miki Zohar, who both wanted the job.

The municipal committee, which manages, among other things, elections in branches and is responsible for allocating the party's budgets to candidates and lists, has two additional members and two observers. While Bibas was ousted as chairman, Netanyahu divided and ruled between himself and his main partner in the struggle against the Arnona Fund and appointed Shai Hajaj, chairman of the Central Regional Councils, as a member of the committee. Former MK Osnat Mark, who is close to the prime minister and his wife, was also appointed as a member.
As observers on the committee, Netanyahu appointed two key Likud figures – MK David Bitan, chairman of the Economy Committee and one of his few vocal critics in the party, in what appeared to be an attempt to maintain political calm and calm the fronts with him, and Likud Central Committee Chairman Tourism Minister Haim Katz.
