After the raid, the "Last Generation" seems to be reorganizing. The climate activists now want to make themselves felt throughout Germany.
Munich – The raid hit the "Last Generation" hard. But the climate group seems to have quickly regrouped itself and is changing its plan. Nationwide protest marches are to take place every Wednesday from now on.
Climate activists withdraw from Berlin: "Last generation" changes its strategy after raid
Instead, Berlin is moving out of the focus of activists. "We are returning to the more than 60 places we come from to take new people by the hand and bring them into resistance," the group explains on its new website. In the spring, the "Last Generation" set up regional teams. "They strengthen our strategy."
On the day of the raid, solidarity protests were already taking place, especially large in Berlin. On the day of the house searches, the "Last Generation" called for more participation in demonstrations. "Protest marches are a particularly good way to get started! We want to start a protest march in more and more cities on Wednesday afternoons," the activists write.
From now on, the group hopes to get more than 100 people on the streets every week in several German cities and speaks of strong growth. Sit-ins and sticker protests are likely to become less.
