An initially assumed threat situation has provided on Monday evening in Gräfelfing for a major police operation with dozens of officers. In the end, the situation turned out to be less dramatic; nevertheless, a 41-year-old man from Gräfelfing now has to reckon with consequences. He received a complaint.

According to the police, a 20-year-old man reported to the police emergency call on Whit Monday at around 15.42 p.m. He reported that a man with a firearm was aiming out of a window of a house in Gräfelfing. As a result of this message, more than 20 patrols of the Munich police were sent to the scene. It soon became clear that there was no threat. The officers found the obviously heavily drunk 41-year-old suspect lying in the hallway. Initial investigations revealed that the man had previously tried to forcibly enter several apartments in the property, which he had been denied. In this process, he got into a physical altercation with one of the residents and was knocked to the ground.

In the apartment of the 41-year-old, the officers found several permit-free weapons and secured them. These are, for example, weapons such as alarm shot, gas or signal weapons as well as cutting and thrusting weapons, which fall under the Weapons Act, but can be freely purchased in Germany from the age of 18. Since the 41-year-old stated that he had drunk a not inconsiderable amount of gasoline shortly before the arrival of the police officers, he was taken to a hospital for observation. After that, the accommodation in a psychiatric facility should be examined by the Munich District Office, the Munich police headquarters announced on Tuesday. Regardless of this, the 41-year-old Gräfelfinger was charged with a misdemeanor under the Weapons Act. Commissariat 25 of the Police Headquarters, which is responsible, among other things, for the investigation of assault offences, has taken over the investigation into the case.
