The situation on the labor market is relaxed - at least for employees: With an unemployment rate of 2.4 percent, there is almost full employment in the district of Miesbach.

District – The chances of getting an apprenticeship have rarely been as good as they are now: there are currently only 1 young people for every 850,780 apprenticeship vacancies in the Rosenheim Employment Agency's area of responsibility. This was announced by the employment agency.

According to the report, almost 2.4 jobs per applicant were reported in May. In particular, there are still numerous apprenticeships unfilled in horticulture, food production (e.g. bakers, butchers and cooks), medical practices, energy technology and sales – to name just a few of the sectors that have a particularly large number of vacancies. "I advise young people who are still looking for an apprenticeship to use the Whitsun holidays to do a trial internship at the company where they would like to do an apprenticeship. This is often the door opener for later apprenticeships," says Fabian Wilhelm, Managing Director of Operations at the Rosenheim Employment Agency.

Around 1600 places for apprenticeships, which begin in autumn, have already been filled. More than 1,100 young people who had registered with the Rosenheim Employment Agency since the beginning of the career guidance year in October have already found what they are looking for. According to the employment agency, this corresponds to around 60 percent of applicants.

The situation on the labour market is similarly good. In the district of Miesbach, the unemployment rate in May was only 2.4 percent. This is slightly lower than in the previous month (2.5 percent), but is above the May 2022 rate (1.9 percent). A total of 1,346 people are currently registered as unemployed in the district of Miesbach, 729 of them at the Employment Agency in Holzkirchen and 617 at the district's job centre, which is responsible for looking after unemployment benefit II recipients. That is 53 and 15 fewer than in April, respectively.

Compared to the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, which is also under the jurisdiction of the Rosenheim Employment Agency, the district of Miesbach is slightly worse off: the unemployment rate there is 1.9 percent. Compared to the city of Rosenheim with a rate of 4.2 percent, however, the labor market in the district of Miesbach is much more relaxed. The quota in the district of Rosenheim corresponds to 2.4 percent of the quota in the district of Miesbach.

"The labour market in our region is characterised by a high level of dynamism: 2,270 women and men deregistered in May to take up work or for other reasons," said Michael Vontra, Chairman of the Management Board of the Rosenheim Employment Agency. According to him, 2,110 people registered as unemployed at the same time. The number of people registered as unemployed had thus fallen by 160 to a total of 7,870.
