At this time, Meir Tamari, who was murdered yesterday (Tuesday) in an attack near his home town of Hermesh in Samaria, is laid to rest. Tamari is survived by his wife and two children, and he will be buried in the cemetery in the settlement of Shaked.

Hundreds came to the cemetery to accompany Tamari on his final journey, among those present were Safed Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Minister Orit Struk and Brigade Commander Menashe Arik Moyal.

Yossi Dagan, Head of the Samaria Regional Council: "Meir is our holy and beloved brother. We stand here in turmoil and frustration. You fell a void on the battle of the people of Israel at a time of security lawlessness.

You stood at the forefront of the Jewish people. You were happy and flourished here in northern Samaria, you entered your home about two months ago to buy, not temporarily, but permanently."

You were a conversationalist, a friend, a handyman helping everyone. A central part of the landscape of a sickle.

Rabbi Shlomo Eliyahu spoke: "We came here to rise and grow and thank God this is happening, the people of Israel are growing. And they – anyone who raises a hand has fallen – look at what's happening in Lebanon and Syria. Whoever thinks he will raise his hand and stay, it won't happen.

"We must say to all the Arabs in the area: You raised your hand on Meir, on God's word, on G-d's beloved son. Whoever raises a hand will not cleanse. The damned killer descends into the depths of hell. He needs to know that.

The widow - in your imagination my life. This is a time of great pain for the family, for the entire nation of Israel. We are all with you. We all strengthen you. Here in Samaria, in Safed, everywhere in the world. The name is with us."

His brother-in-law eulogized him: "Meir, my dear brother-in-law, 19 years ago I was privileged to join the dear Tamari family. We celebrate your birthday next Wednesday. Four years ago we celebrated the wedding with Tal, last year we celebrated Brit Yahav, the other day there was a wedding and Meir arrived. It was a kind of separation, you were murdered because you were Jewish. Be with all the righteous and ask that the Messiah come already."
