Highlights: Schwaig – Moosmotor e.V. has submitted an application to the municipality for the use of the ground floor in the residential building area. At some point, the area will become the home of the local associations. The association lists costs of 35,000 euros for the conversion measures. The implementation of the project will take years, says Councillor Rainer Hellinger, and the whole thing should become the new center for Schwaig. The property has been used for parties in the past, and it was once owned by the airport company.

A suitable building for the clubs in the village - that is simply missing in Schwaig. But with the Heiglhof at the sports field, a sensible solution seems to have been found after a long search.

A suitable building for the clubs in the village - that is simply missing in Schwaig. But with the Heiglhof at the sports field, a sensible solution seems to have been found after a long search.

Schwaig – Moosmotor e.V., which takes care of customs and culture, has now submitted an application to the municipality for the use of the ground floor in the residential building area and has also asked for a subsidy for the conversion measures. The municipal council unanimously gave the green light for this. At some point, the area will become the home of the local associations.

"The solution seems feasible," said Councillor Rainer Hellinger, who himself lives in Schwaig. He reported on various approaches to solutions in recent years, none of which had worked. The whole thing was also a topic in the most recent local meeting. "It affects all clubs, we don't have a local building," Hellinger emphasized. Now you can "design beautifully" and have "an opportunity to give a club a home". But others should also get a chance there at some point.

The Moosmotor e.V. wants to use the ground floor for meetings to plan events in the village. In addition, there will be extraordinary member meetings and ordinary association meetings there. The Moos-Kidz, i.e. the Moosmotor children's group, should also be allowed to romp around.

However, non-members are also considered. According to Moosmotor e.V., there could be workshops for children and adults, such as "Radlrichten", to bring the participants closer to handicrafts. The maypole could also be accommodated in the Heiglhof – for storage, design and, of course, to keep watch. Something could also be possible for the holiday program or meetings for local excursions such as peat cutting.

"I would like to take a look at the farm, what is the condition?" asked Matthias Reitinger (WG Notzing). "Relatively good," replied Mayor Bernhard Mücke (CSU) with a view to the areas envisaged. Other parts, on the other hand, are in need of demolition.

The property has been used for parties in the past, and it was once owned by the airport company (FMG), which had used it for employee housing. The municipality acquired it from her.

In any case, there will be a lot to do soon. The association lists costs of 35,000 euros for the conversion measures. A big chunk here is a stainless steel counter with sink and cooling (10,000 euros). Also listed are the installation of a floor-to-ceiling patio door (5000 euros) or other things such as seating and lamps (5000 euros).

As Mücke reported, in addition to the 35,000 cited by the association, another 10,000 euros will be added for points such as planning, approval and fire protection. However, he had set the sum with a safety buffer, according to the mayor, who praised the commitment of Moosmotor e.V.

According to Hellinger, the implementation of the project will take years. The whole thing should become the new center for Schwaig. Anyone who wants to participate is still a dream of the future. It is about a "successive merging" of the clubs, about a joint development. The Moosmotor e.V. is getting started.

It still needs to be clarified what is worth preserving on the property and what is not. Among other things, there are two shooting clubs in Schwaig, which currently shoot in the sports hall. Hellinger also thinks of church choir or mother-child group.

In a few years, the parties involved will then submit a joint application for use, Hellinger said of the plans. One advantage of the area: "The parking spaces are there, and you're not on the main road."

Christian Kaiser (WG Oberding) also spoke out clearly in favour of the Heiglhof: "There will be no alternative for a long time," he emphasized. And Hellinger says in an interview with our newspaper: "This is a community project, especially for our children."
