District – Summer is slowly but surely. And with the warm temperatures, there are also many festivals that invite guests to dance and celebrate. A new one is taking place in the Landsberg district this year: the Lechside Festival of the Landsberg District Youth Council (KJR) - on 24 June.

The KJR is really letting it rip this year and rightly so - because it is celebrating its 75th anniversary. It started with the Kreisjugendring-Gala on May 16 (the KREISBOTE reported) and in just under three weeks the next party will follow in the form of the festival at the Schlüsselanger in Landsberg. There, the KJR invites everyone to celebrate from 14 p.m. to 22 p.m.

Children and young people, but of course also adults, can let off steam with the various activities and attractions. In addition to three bouncy castles and a ninja course, there is also crate climbing and a live foosball table. With the support of Lechrain Volleys youth coach Isabel Wildner, all "ball sports enthusiasts" can also try their hand at a match in the sand.

From the sand, hopefully in warm temperatures, we also go directly into the cool water. With the waterfalls of the Landjugend Weil, cooling off is guaranteed. If you prefer it a little quieter, you can also let off steam artistically: At the stand of the Lengenfeld Youth and Customs Association, interested parties can have their personal glasses engraved. If you are more interested in the blue light profession, you also have the opportunity to win great prizes at the blue light rally of the organizations from the district. "The emergency services work together," explains KJR Managing Director Stefan Ehle, "which doesn't happen that often."

No matter which activities you have chosen, hunger and thirst will come at some point: The Landsberg potato factory, 'Die Krämerin' from Schwabmünchen, but also associations such as the Malteser Jugend provide the guests with savoury and sweet treats. Drinks are provided by individual clubs. The stalls offer soft drinks and cocktails – all non-alcoholic.

In the evening it continues musically. In the 20 by 40 meter marquee, Thomas Huttner from the "Grünstreifen" and the band "Bruchpilot" from Landsberg and Kaufering will perform. The festival will conclude with a fire show from the circus virus, which will literally heat up the guests again.

A total of 18 groups and associations will be on site with their booths or workshops. "This speaks for a lively youth work in the district," says Ehle happily. The neighbouring youth council from Augsburg also supports the district youth council.

Admission and attractions at the festival are free. This was particularly important to the KJR, as chairwoman Birgit Geier explains. "We wanted all families to be able to afford it." Only food and drinks cost something, the income is for the coffers of the respective clubs. In order to be able to handle everything, the KJR will receive support from Lech-Stahl-Veredelung, Edeka Südbayern and Sparkasse Landsberg-Dießen, which will also enrich the festival with a bullriding attraction.
