The Haifa District Court on Wednesday allowed partial publication of the main points of the indictment filed earlier this week by the District Attorney's Office against psychologist Moti Gini, after previously closing the case against him allegedly "for lack of evidence." Judge Nitzan Silman ordered him to deposit NIS 10,000 in the court treasury, sign an additional NIS 50,<> bail, and deposit his passport, forbidding him to leave the country.

Moti (Mordechai) Ginny, born in 1963 and a resident of Haifa, served for many years as a psychologist, and as part of his work treated minors as well as patients on the autistic spectrum. Ginny introduced himself as a doctor and senior developmental psychologist and expert in the treatment of children suffering from autism, a member of the Israel Psychological Association. Ginny maintained a private practice in the Carmel Center and presented himself as chief psychologist of the Milman Center, a recognized treatment center in the north funded by, among other things, public funds from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Social Affairs and local authorities.

The indictment filed earlier this week accuses him of committing sexual offenses against four patients, all of whom were children at the time he cared for them. The acts towards the first to expose Ginny's exploits to Walla! They happened many years ago when he came to see him at the age of 12. The indictment alleges that during the therapeutic relationship, psychologist Gini committed sexual offenses on him until in one of the incidents the boy took a penknife out of his pocket, told the psychologist to stop and ran away from the clinic.

It was also reported that some time after the encounter in question, the psychologist came to the complainant's home and asked him not to tell anyone about what happened in the clinic, and thus the boy kept the secret for decades. According to the indictment, between 2016 and 2021, on multiple occasions, Ginny molested three other children in his care who are on the autism spectrum.

The three complainants came to him while they were minors to provide them with psychological treatment, although according to the facts of the indictment, he took advantage of the therapeutic relationship, during which he repeatedly sexually abused them. The prosecution claims that the psychologist took advantage of the children's helpless situation when he was in charge of them.

According to the indictment, Ginny's indecent acts included stroking the children's bodies, and in some cases stroking intimate parts of their bodies, above and below their clothes. At the same time as the indictment, the prosecution asked the court to restrict Gini from "engaging in a felony related" until the conclusion of the legal proceedings against him.

Attorney Tami Ullman, who represents psychologist Moti Gini, together with Yaakov Shlomovich and Shahaf Ullman, told Walla! "He denies the aforesaid and claims that he was wronged when the indictment was filed."
