This 17-year-old had made several phone calls threatening to blow up the Edouard-Branly high school in Créteil, where he is educated.

His phone calls made it possible to trace him back. This Tuesday afternoon, the staff of the police station of Créteil arrested a minor of 17 years, suspected of being the author of death threats. In this case, he threatened to destroy his establishment with an explosive or incendiary device, such as the throwing of a Molotov cocktail.

To avoid any risk, the police immediately contacted the Lycée Édouard-Branly, which has several hundred students, before going to the suspect's home. And for good reason, the young man, absent for several days, would be pending dismissal after disciplinary difficulties.

The minor still in police custody

Once the young man was arrested, the alert was quickly lifted and the demining team confused. The teenager quickly recognized that there were no hidden bombs and no incendiary devices prepared. Placed in custody, the minor was still there on Wednesday. The Créteil prosecutor's office, which refused to communicate on this case, simply confirmed the extension of police custody.

This Saturday, the police had already intervened in the district of La Varenne Saint-Hilaire, in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. This time, no bomb threat but a call for a homicide accompanied by a hostage taking and again announced by phone. Immediately, the alert led to the closure of the neighborhood for two hours, with the establishment of a large security perimeter. The La Varenne-Chennevières station of the RER A was closed to the public and bus traffic interrupted until the bridge of Chennevières.

According to the Créteil prosecutor's office, it was then a hoax, according to the practice of swatting: these hoaxes that are held in the world of e-sport and online games. The author has not been found.

For the facts of Créteil, the false alarm would be more akin to a low revenge of a student towards his school. The rectorate, despite our requests, did not answer our questions.
