Berlin – There is an old saying that says: "Never meet your heroes". After all, the expectations that fans have of their great idols often deviate from reality and encounters between stars and their admirers often turn out to be quite different from what you might have imagined. Barbara Schöneberger (49) can tell you a thing or two about it, as she reveals in the latest edition of her podcast.

In the current episode of her podcast "With a woman's waffles", Barbara Schöneberger chats with Ruth Moschner (47) about life and career. Right at the beginning, the two TV greats talk about various situations from their everyday celebrity lives in which they were not recognized privately – be it by fans or postmen. Above all, the "Because they don't know what's happening" presenter remembers an incident in the swimming pool well.
As Barbara Schöneberger explains to her interlocutor, she was once approached by a strange man during a bathing day. "I was lying there without make-up and in a swimsuit and I think he somehow imagined the Barbara Schöneberger package to be more awesome," recalls the Munich native. Laughing, the fan said to her: "My boyfriend just said YOU, you were Barbara Schöneberger" – quite embarrassing.

Barbara Schöneberger's podcast "With a woman's waffles" regularly features top-class guests. There has also been a live edition of the format – in which the presenter chatted with designer Guido Maria Kretschmer (57) and singer Sasha (51) on stage. As the mother of two explains, she confirmed to the fan that she was really Barbara Schöneberger – to which he is said to have reacted not particularly enthusiastically. "I know he was expecting something completely different, a different body and also a different face," she explains, "It was tough especially for him. Of course, I don't want to disappoint the fans like that."
She certainly didn't disappoint him – but it's still something completely different to experience a well-known TV face away from the cameras, far away from the hustle and bustle, in everyday clothes and quite naturally.
