Peter Simonischek played "Jedermann" at the Salzburg Festival from 2002 to 2009. Since 1999 he has been a member of the ensemble of the Vienna Burgtheater. Prior to that, he was a member of the ensemble of the Berlin Schaubühne for 20 years, starting in 1979. In addition to the theater, the native of Graz also made a career in TV and cinema. In small roles in "Tatort", "Bella Bock" and "Der Alte" Simonischek was seen.

The tragicomedy "Toni Erdmann" makes Peter Simonischek internationally famous. With a weird set of teeth and weird jokes, the actor drives his ambitious daughter (Sandra Hüller) crazy as an aging music teacher. "Toni Erdmann" by Mare Ade was even nominated for an Oscar in 2017.
