Tough semi-finals
Mathieu, the fiery chef at the head of the best restaurant in New Zealand, Danny the great technician saved thanks to the show "The secret kitchen" and Hugo, talented young cook who blew away the three-star chef Jordi Roca competed in this penultimate show of the season. As is customary, each has imposed his test on the others. Danny asked his classmates to revisit a typical French dish with molecular cooking techniques, Mathieu challenged himself to make a pie with pheasant while Hugo challenged his friends by imposing on them the work of the root of the endive proving to be very bitter. At the end of a very tight and rich in twists and turns, Danny qualified for the final while Hugo and Mathieu found themselves tied. François-Régis Gaudry and Paul Pairet, who had judged all their dishes, finally sealed their fate and chose, blindly, the achievements that bluffed them the most during these three challenges. It was Hugo who emerged victorious from this duel while Mathieu left the competition at the gates of the final.

Two surprising finalists
Danny knows the most atypical course in the history of "Top Chef". The 26-year-old was eliminated during the second broadcast of this 14th season of the contest. Having recently become chef of Bayview by Michel Roth (one Michelin star) in Geneva, he benefited from a twist of fate. For the first time, a parallel competition called "The Secret Kitchen" was organized and pitted, each week, the existers of the show. Danny managed the tour de force to eliminate eleven candidates one by one thanks to dishes of remarkable creativity and technicality. After a surprise comeback in the quarterfinals, he made it to the final to fill his leader Hélène Darroze who seeks, with him, a fourth consecutive victory.

Hugo, for his part, is also the surprise guest of this final stage of the competition. The youngest candidate in the competition with Albane, the 23-year-old cook was rather discreet during the first weeks of the show. Throughout the competition, he was able to use his passion and passion in dishes that were both technical and gourmet. Philippe Etchebest's protégé, who was second at the three-star restaurant Le Clos des sens in Annecy, revealed the extent of his talent during the event with three-star Spanish chef Jordi Roca. He then bluffed the audience by presenting an empty plate, the contents of his dish being underneath! A test of the competition that acted as a revelation for him and then carried him to the final. Enough to delight his brigade leader who had not reached this stage of the competition with one of his candidates for three years.

Ten hours of cooking
On Wednesday, June 7, Danny and Hugo will face the show's toughest challenge: cooking a complete menu for 104 people, the four jury members and 100 Red Cross volunteers. As in the previous two years, the dinner will take place at the Hotel George V in Paris. To make this exceptional meal, the two cooks will put themselves in the kitchen of the Parisian palace ten hours before the arrival of the guests and will be helped in the development of their dishes, as is traditional, by their former classmates. For a day, they play clerks for the two finalists. Great technicians, Hugo and Danny will compete in inventiveness to please the greatest number and win this season 14 of the M6 competition.
