Dozens of people demonstrated Thursday morning in front of Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman while she was attending a conference at Haifa University against government policy and the legal revolution. Silman spoke at the conference while shouting "shame" from the audience. At the end of the event, she left the courtroom accompanied by heavy security - while outside the demonstrators surrounded her with banners and flags and shouted slogans against the legal revolution.

During her speech, chants were heard in the hall and two demonstrators stood in front of her holding flags. The police and ushers did not intervene. While escorting Silman out of the courtroom, the police attacked and knocked down Haaretz photographer Rami Shlosha for no reason. Three were injured but did not require medical attention and his camera was damaged. "The police officers in the force that was there didn't know me, but I introduced myself to them at least twice as a journalist," he said. "Definitely an unpleasant situation," he added.

The student protest, which organized the demonstration together with other organizations, said: "Idit is the reason we are all here. Greed and the desire to promote personal interests rather than those of the public that elected it is now a common malaise in the government and threatens to wreak havoc on us." The protest organizers also said they had come "to say no more. The time has come for elected officials to hear the voice of the public, the public that did not choose a coup d'état."
