Suspected vehicular attack in the Mahane Yehuda market, Jerusalem (according to section 27A of the Copyright Law)
Hannah Nachenberg, who was seriously injured in an attack at the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem 22 years ago and fell into a coma, was pronounced dead Wednesday at Tel Aviv's Ichilov Hospital. The suicide bombing attack was carried out by Hamas operative Muhammad al-Masri. After her death, the number of people killed in the attack reached 16.
The attack in Sbarro took place on Jaffa Street, and was one of the worst of the second intifada. Apart from the 15 victims who were pronounced dead around the time of the incident, another 140 people were injured. The 22-year-old terrorist came from the village of 'Aqaba near Jenin. He was assisted by Ahlam Tamimi, a student and journalist at Birzeit University who holds Jordanian citizenship.

Among those killed in the attack were eight children. Five of those killed were members of one family, the Schijveschuurder family. The planner of the attack, Mohammed Douglas Wael Muhammad Nasser and sentenced to 15 life sentences. He was released in the Shalit deal. Tamimi was released to Jordan and is now wanted by the FBI.
