The sun is shining from the blue sky: This is exactly the kind of weather that many people have been longing for after a rainy spring. But will it stay that way?
Munich – Finally sun, finally several warm days in a row – finally summer! This is more or less how many people in Bavaria are likely to think about the current weather at the moment. The spring was quite wet, with an average of 237 litres of rain per square metre falling in Bavaria from March to May – 14 litres more than the average in the years 1961 to 1990. Now summer is just around the corner – and shows itself in a blue-yellow robe.
Summer in Bavaria: Lots of sun, little rain – "high-pressure weather conditions" remain
Thursday, June 1, is the official start of meteorological summer. And the weather cooperates. In wetternet's latest video on YouTube, meteorologist Dominik Jung explains that the high will hold out for at least another week. Accordingly, the title of the weather video also says: "Blocking high-pressure weather conditions remain".

This means that, according to Dominik Jung, a change in the weather is not to be expected until the middle of the month, and the warm sunny days will remain for the time being. Among other things, the American weather model shows that with the rain totals up to Monday, June 5, hardly any wetness is to be expected in Bavaria. According to the German weather model GFS, Jung explains, rain is also unlikely until Saturday, June 10. One sees here "widespread no precipitation at all over Germany", only in the Alps are in places short showers possible.

The weather in the coming days: when will it reach the 30-degree mark?
In the next few days it will be warmer and warmer in Bavaria. According to wetternet's weather video, 31 degrees in Munich and 23 degrees in Nuremberg are already beckoning on Wednesday, May 25 - both with cloudless skies. On Thursday, June 1, it will remain rather restrained at 22 degrees in Munich, but the temperatures in the north of Bavaria will climb to 27 degrees. Over the weekend, the weather will fluctuate throughout Bavaria at around 25 degrees. It will continue like this during the week - but the 9-degree mark will not be reached by Friday, June 30.
However, the sunny and dry weather also has a disadvantage: the risk of forest fires increases considerably. In large parts of northern and western Bavaria, the risk of forest fires is high, especially on Wednesday – the German Weather Service (DWD) gives warning class four – "high danger" – for many regions. Class three, "medium danger", applies to the entire Free State. The highest level is class five, here the DWD speaks of "very high danger". (FHZ)
