Police detained two suspects for questioning in the Jerusalem area and another suspect in central Israel on suspicion of making unusual or threatening statements about the gay pride parade to be held Thursday in Jerusalem.

During interrogation, he denied that he had tried to threaten or encourage harm and did not intend to do so. At the end of his interrogation, he was placed under house arrest and removed from Jerusalem for five days.

In addition, detectives from the Central Unit of the Jerusalem District detained for questioning a suspect in his 40s, a resident of Jerusalem, after he made an unusual and suspicious statement to another regarding the gay pride parade. The suspect was taken for questioning by the police to clarify his statement.

Also yesterday, a resident of Ramle was detained for questioning in the Central District following unusual statements in a Telegram group regarding the parade. At the end of his interrogation he was removed from Jerusalem for several days.

About 2,000 Jerusalem District police officers and overt and covert Border Police fighters, assisted by reinforcements and volunteers, under the command of Jerusalem District Commander Major General Doron Turgeman, will operate along the route of the march, in the assembly areas and in the streets adjacent to the parade routes, to maintain the safety of the participants, maintain public order and direct traffic.

Jerusalem District Division Officer Erez Tavor told Israel Hayom: "We completed the preparations after many weeks of preparations and preparations based on meticulous planning. Our goal is to ensure the safety and security of all participants in the Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem. The thousands of marchers expected to take part in the Gay Pride Parade will gather at the Bell Garden in the capital starting at 15:00, and at approximately 17:00 they will begin the march from the Bell Garden through King David Street, Palomar, Keren Hayesod, King George, Hillel Street, Menashe Ben-Israel to Independence Park. Starting at approximately 14:00 P.M., the streets along the parade route will be closed to traffic.

In addition, the streets leading to them will be closed to traffic, including: Agron, Elhanan, Shalom Aleichem, Mapu, Ahad Ha'am, Gaza (from Arlozorov to Paris Square), Shmuel Hanagid, Avida, KKL-JNF, the Histadrut, King David from Palomar Junction (will remain open from the customs junction to neighborhood residents and from there left to Kariv), David Marcus, Jabotinsky to King David, Yitzhak Kariv, David Remez, Emil Butte and Eliyahu Shema (exit to Yitzhak Kariv will be allowed). The roads that will be closed will open gradually as the parade progresses. Among the routes that will remain open: Hebron Road, the Jerusalem Brigade, the IDF Tunnel, Haim Bar Lev – in both directions.
