Police warn the population: Burglars flee from control – search with helicopter so far unsuccessful

Update from May 30, 15 p.m.: In the meantime, the police have published more information about the morning police check, in which three burglars jumped out of a car and fled on foot. In the car of the suspects, therefore, a safe was found, which, according to initial findings, was stolen in the Austrian town of Schärding. In the afternoon, the three men are still on the run.

Neuhaus am Inn – During an everyday police check near Neuhaus am Inn, district of Passau, and near the border with Austria, the Bavarian police caught three burglars. However, this only turned out later – after the three men fled.

Three men flee from the police – warning of the population

According to a police press release, the check was carried out during the night hours on Tuesday, May 30, by officers of the Federal Police. The destination was a car after entering the country from Austria. But then the incident: "After stopping, three men jumped out of the car and fled immediately on foot," the officials write in their report.

It then turned out that the three men had previously been involved in a burglary. The immediately initiated search measures for the fugitives, in which a helicopter was also used, have so far been unsuccessful. The police therefore warn the population not to pick up hitchhikers and to dial 110 immediately in case of suspicious observations.

No more precise description possible – radio stations should spread warning

"Residents in the wider area of Neuhaus am Inn are asked to dial the emergency number 110 immediately in case of suspicious perceptions. Motor vehicle drivers are warned to pick up hitchhikers," the press release reads. In addition, the officials are also asking radio stations to spread the message. Unfortunately, a more detailed description of the fugitive burglars is currently not possible, it concludes. (FHZ)
