Debate between David Bitan and Moshe Gafni at the Economy Committee, April 30, 2023 (Knesset channel)
After deciding to postpone product price increases until weeks later, on Thursday morning, at the beginning of June, a series of food giants will raise the prices of many products. Among the companies that will raise prices are Mars, Ben & Jerry's, Osem, Strauss and Willifood.
First in the wave of price increases was Tnuva, which was joined by Tara, which raised dairy products under supervision after the announcement by the Price Control Committee at the Ministry of Agriculture. Subsequently, liquor companies also decided on the prices of products that are not regulated, such as milk substitutes, whose prices increased by 4.65%, cottage cheese and Bulgarian cheese. Strauss "aligned" with Tnuva and Tara and raised the prices of milk, cheese and yogurt by 2.33%.

They were followed by many food chains responsible for most of the products on supermarket shelves to increase prices: Ben & Jerry's will raise prices by up to 15%, Mama Chicken, Delicatessen and Olivia products will increase by 7.4%, Snickers, Bounty and Orbit gum will increase prices by about ten percent. Tirat Tzvi's sausages will also increase by 5%.
Osem, which controls many dry shelf products, will also raise prices, by an average of 4.7% – the increase will also affect coffee and cereals, pastas and sauces, among other things. Baby milk substitutes, including Materna and Gerber products, will become more expensive starting at midnight.
