Israel filed a formal complaint against Lebanon with the UN Security Council and the secretary-general following Hezbollah's military exercise involving 700 terrorist operatives, which presented a scenario of infiltration into Israel. Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan: "We demand that Lebanon exercise its sovereignty on its territory, implement Security Council resolutions and prevent Hezbollah terrorists from turning Lebanon into a terrorist base. Hezbollah's provocations will lead to disastrous consequences for the entire region. The Security Council must immediately and strongly condemn Hezbollah and Iran."
Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, filed a formal complaint against Lebanon with the UN secretary-general and the Security Council following Hezbollah's military exercise, which is a blatant violation of Security Council Resolutions 1701 and 1559. The exercise carried out by the organization in southern Lebanon included scenarios of crossing and infiltrating Israel, taking over Israeli outposts and abducting soldiers. "Israel expects and demands that Lebanon take control of what is happening in its territory and act to prevent terrorist groups from arming, planning and executing attacks against Israel," the complaint reads.
