Due to the extreme fire, several fires broke out today (Friday) across the country, when firefighting planes were dispatched to a forest fire near the community of Tal Shachar near Beit Shemesh. Due to the proximity of the fire to the railway tracks, train traffic in the Beit Shemesh area was halted. At the same time, a fire broke out in a factory and garage in Kiryat Malachi/Be'er Tuvia.

The Southern District Control Center was notified of a fire in the yard of the Katzt factory near the Kastina junction. This is the burning of a pharmaceutical factory containing hazardous substances.

The fire spread to gas cylinders and garages. At the moment, teams have been dispatched from the Beit Shemesh and Central District stations. This is a very large event with a high level of risk.

Shift commander Rabbi Reshef Moti Biton said: "This is an extreme incident with many fire crews receiving work orders with the task of protecting nearby buildings and factories. There is currently no control over the fire. A fire crane opens and pumps water onto the pharmaceutical plant. It should be noted that a staging area has been established for receiving forces and division into missions." At the moment, I don't know of any casualties.

Israeli police and fire brigade forces operate in the industrial zone. The police are working to remove civilians from the area, while firefighting efforts are ongoing, and have closed Route 3 to traffic at this stage.

Woodland fire near Tal Shahar

At around 13:40 P.M., a report was received at the Fire and Rescue Service's 102 hotline about a forest fire that broke out near the community of Tal Shahar. Six teams were dispatched to the scene, under the command of Rabbi Reshef Yoram Hadad from the Beit Shemesh Regional Station. In addition, 6 firefighting aircraft were dispatched. This is a large forest fire, near the railway tracks, and the fire brigade wanted to stop train traffic because it endangers trains and passengers and firefighters who are required to work near the tracks. Crews are working on the scene to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading.

Fire in an open area, Kerem Maharal

Firefighters from the Hadera station are working on a large fire in the Kerem Maharal area. Great forces on their way to the scene. Currently, Route 4 from Atlit Junction to Ofer Junction in both directions is blocked to traffic.

At the same time, a woman was found unconscious lying on a traffic island on Sokolov Street in Holon. MDA medics and paramedics provide medical treatment and refer a 60-year-old woman (apparently a street resident) to Wolfson Hospital in moderate condition with signs of heat stroke.

MDA paramedic Yuval Maman said: "Civilians who saw the woman lying for a long time on the traffic island on the street, exposed to the sun and without drinking, called the emergency forces to call for medical assistance. She was vaguely conscious, very hot to the touch and showing signs of heat stroke. We gave her medical treatment, which included refrigeration, and evacuated her to the hospital in moderate condition. On hot and many days like today, it is important to be aware of people in at-risk groups. If the civilians hadn't called us, this incident could have ended in disaster."
