On June 19, the fairgrounds will invest the 400 meters of the Esplanade des Feuillants until September 1. This sandblasted strip along the rue de Rivoli has become a space for many events, of which the Ferris wheel that rises high in the sky of Paris is the best known symbol. Faced with this untimely "eventialization" of a high place of culture, the association Les amis des Tuileries, created in 2003, commemorates twenty years of unsuccessful appeals against this intermittent occupation of a state garden.
Before her, another association (Défense Tuileries) had thrown down the glove after waging a legal battle that she had finally lost before the Council of State. The latter had turned a blind eye to the initial package and he had considered that the limited presence of fairgrounds did not change the use of pleasure and walk of the park. He had nevertheless specified that the occupation of the Esplanade des Feuillants should not be used more than two months a year. But...
