The Ukrainian military is meticulously preparing for the announced counteroffensive. Modern battle tanks from the West are to help with this.

Kyiv – Preparations have been underway in Ukraine for some time now for a major counteroffensive to retake the territories occupied by Russia. Among other things, modern battle tanks from the West are to be used, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had long asked for. For example, Germany is providing 18 "Leopard 2" tanks and the USA 31 of the "Abrams" type.

14 "Challenger 2" main battle tanks from Great Britain have now arrived at the front and are expected to be used soon. This is shown by images that Bild has now published. On these you can see the Ukrainian military practicing the breakthrough of anti-tank barriers with the tanks. The so-called pyramid-shaped "dragon's teeth" are being used by the Russians by the thousands in the Ukraine war and are actually intended to block the way for tanks.

Modern main battle tanks from the West: British "Challenger 2" will soon be used

For the "Challenger 2", however, the locks do not seem to be an obstacle. With a shovel mounted in front of the tank, he simply manages two "dragon's teeth" to the side. In addition, the British tracked vehicle can easily overcome trenches dug by the Russian military on the front line. Mines also cause little to no damage to the vehicle. The shovel also helps to keep the exploding explosive charge at a distance. So for the part of the offensive against Putin's troops, Ukraine seems to be well prepared.

In other footage, Bild shows 50 CV 90 infantry fighting vehicles rolling on a train through Slovakia towards the Ukrainian border. Sweden is making this available to the government in Kiev. So far, however, it has been assumed that the Swedish tanks have long since arrived in the war zone. So the delayed delivery could be a reason for the delayed start of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.
