Germering – In the first week of the Pentecost holidays, a Lego city was built on three mornings in the Free Evangelical Community.
The eight to eleven-year-old boys and girls worked the city, which is about two by four meters in size, in order to show their relatives the result after the last day of construction. Many details and functions could only be seen when they were demonstrated and explained. Eleven-year-old Fabian, who had also taken part in the Lego Building Days in the past, reported that he had built several pirate ships, an army of soldiers and pirates, a lighthouse and a residential building. What he particularly liked about building was that there were almost unlimited Lego pieces.
Vincent, at the age of seven, visited the Lego Building Days for the first time. He built several vehicles, various buildings and a crane. "I learned a lot about building Lego, which I also really enjoyed. I'm happy to be there again next time," he concluded. Some of the young builders had a lot of experience with Lego buildings, while others were allowed to build something with them for the first time in their lives. Michael Weber, the youth officer of the Free Evangelical Church and responsible for the Lego Building Days, told the children a story related to the Christian faith during the construction break. "It's always nice to see how individually different children build and what positive dynamics are created in the process," he observes. The next Lego Building Days are planned from 8 to 10 August as part of the Germering holiday programme.
