No "real singer": "Die Toten Hosen" ban Helene Fischer covers of "On days like these"

Highlights: Ten years ago, Helene Fischer covered "Days like these" by Die Toten Hosen. To this day, however, their version may not be published on sound carriers. In her eyes, Fischer did not seem to be a "real singer", as lead singer Campino (60) indirectly conveyed in an interview. Anastacia's cover version is also a small accolade for Campino, which is also well received in the pop world. Even pop pope Michael Jürgens (55) spoke up this time.

Düsseldorf – At the Summer Open Air 2013, Helene Fischer (38) caused storms of enthusiasm among the fans. At the latest with their cover version of "Days like these" by Die Toten Hosen, it didn't keep anyone in their seats anymore – you can still see it on YouTube today.

According to schlagerprofis.de, however, the Toten Hosen themselves reacted much less enthusiastically when Helene's record company wanted to release the cover version on recordings. In her eyes, Helene Fischer did not seem to be a "real singer", as lead singer Campino (60) indirectly conveyed in an interview.

Toten-Hosen-Hit: Schlager star Helene Fischer gets cover ban – Anastacia does not

Already in the booklet for another record released at that time it should be explicitly mentioned that the management of the Toten Hosen had not given the release for a release of a Helene version on CD, DVD and BluRay.

More fortunate was obviously the pop-rock tube Anastacia (54), who released "Days like these" in the English version "Best days" just a few weeks ago. However, Campino's verdict on this decision was also interesting.

"It's nice to hear the song from a real singer. It's certainly better sung than the original," Campino is said to have said in an interview with the Rheinische Post about Anastacia's interpretation. A statement that almost seems like a nasty swipe at Helene Fischer. However, Campino also claims not to know the pop singer's version at all.

Another blow to Helene Fischer: Florian Silbereisen's producer advertises for Anastacia

Anastacia's cover version is also a small accolade for Campino, which is also well received in the pop world. For example, in a press conference for the Schlagerbooom Open Air 2023 in Kitzbühel, Austria, on July 1 with Florian Silbereisen (41), the focus was explicitly on Anastacia. Even pop pope Michael Jürgens (55) spoke up this time.

Jürgens is said to have separately pointed out the interpretation of Anastacia's cover version and Campino's involvement in the English lyrics. There was also support from the German music producer Christian Geller (48). The composer also produced the studio album "Das Album" by Florian Silbereisen and Thomas Anders (60). His participation as a sought-after pop composer is all the more striking, while Helene Fischer, on the other hand, has received a clear rebuff from the management of the Toten Hosen.

Even without a cover version, Helene Fischer is currently in big business with her "Rausch" tour. The singer even gave her fans hope for a pop-happy Christmas. Sources used:schlagerprofis.de, rollingstone.de
